I really thought that when Only took up the lead entering the straight at Wincanton that we were on for a weekend double. It didn't quite work out like that but we were all delighted with his second . There is more to come from him .
I was very relieved that Geoff got his head in front at Aintree on Saturday .
He looked beaten at the furlong post but showed great attitude and stayed on really well to beat a good horse. The race was not run to suit him and it ended up being a mile flat race with 6 hurdles being removed due to the low sun . Tom Scu was at his best !
DP flew up for the race - along with Charlotte Scu - and there was a great atmosphere in the winners enclosure - helped by the fact that DP had 3 winners on the day at different courses !
Our celebrations were nothing though compared to Sunday at Aintree when Broadway Buffalo won the last for a group of very large and very fit rugby players ! It had been torrential rain all day and the track was riding so muddy that the colours were indistinguishable . It was only when we removed the mud from Toms face that we new we had won ! CU
